A Mini Asthma Attack?

Okay, so I’m going to the doctor for asthma testing among other things. The first mention of asthma I thought no way! I always picture asthma as an asthma attack. It never occurred to me that there’s more to it than just the actual attacks. So I started looking it up online.

Oh my goodness! My hypochondrias is in overdrive. I am kind of freaking out about it. This morning, I woke up out of a dead sleep in one of my couging fits, which has been normal for the past month and a half. Five or six coughs later I started to panic, because I didn’t stop. I kept coughing. I lost count after awhile. Granted it was probably less than sixty seconds, but more than thirty, and I suddenly took a deep breath and was okay, with the exception of a very irritated throat and lungs. I was like, oh my gosh, maybe I really do have asthma.

So this morning i’ve been googling, and I just read “clearing throat can be the first sign of asthma”. Oh my gosh, for the past three years, my husband affectionately calls me “Hacky” for that very reason.

Now on Tuesday when I go, I’m sure they will just say, “Oh no, you just have an allergy to your cats” or something like that, but the more I read upon it, the more convinced I have asthma. I really hope I don’t.
Does anyone know anything about this? Am I being paranoid? Man, Tuesday is a long time away. Blasted weekends!
